Minimalist Kangaroo Leather Wallets
These are for carrying less.
A minimalist wallet holds the four or five cards you actually reach for, plus folded notes — and nothing else. No coin pouch, no window, no stack of receipts. The point is that it stays flat, sits in a front pocket, and doesn’t reshape your trousers.
Kangaroo leather is what makes this work. Because it’s so strong for its thickness, I can build these from a thinner piece than cowhide would allow and still have them last years. A minimalist wallet in thick leather isn’t minimalist — it’s just a small thick wallet.
The Annandale, Barangaroo, Bondi and Woronora each solve it slightly differently: vertical or horizontal fold, more or fewer card slots. Have a look at the dimensions on each — the difference between them is a few millimetres and one card slot, and that matters more than it sounds when it’s in your pocket every day.

Which minimalist wallet
Four of them, and the differences are small on paper and obvious in a pocket. All are full-grain kangaroo, all are saddle stitched by hand, all sit flat.

The Bondi is made from three thin pieces of leather. One fewer and it would be a card holder rather than a wallet. If your goal is the least possible in your front pocket, that is the one.
The Annandale and Woronora hold roughly twice as much in the same footprint, with a card slot on each face. The difference between them is the Woronora's flap, which holds the front cards in place — worth having if you have ever had a card work its way out.
The Barangaroo is a vertical bifold built on the assumption you have mostly stopped carrying cash. Four card slots and two utility pockets for business cards or receipts.
Why these stay thin
A minimalist wallet in thick leather is not minimalist — it is a small thick wallet. The thinness has to come from the material.
Kangaroo is the strongest leather for its weight available. Its fibre structure runs more uniformly than cattle hide, and crucially it does not need splitting down to be workable. A cowhide wallet is usually made from leather sliced thinner, which removes the dense outer grain where the strength lives — so it has to be cut thicker to survive.
Kangaroo keeps its full grain at a thickness that is already thin. That is the whole reason these work.
How many cards, realistically
The figures above are comfortable everyday numbers rather than maximums. Veg-tan kangaroo gives slightly to the shape of what you keep in it over the first few weeks, so a slot that takes six cards snugly on day one takes them easily by week three.
Notes fold once and sit in the cash slot. These are not designed for a thick fold of cash — if you carry a lot of notes, one of the traditional bifolds or trifolds will suit you better.

Common questions
Will it fit in a front pocket?
That is what they are for. All four sit flat enough for a front trouser pocket, which is the main reason people move to a minimalist wallet in the first place.
Which is the thinnest?
The Bondi, by a clear margin — three pieces of leather and a single slot.
Will it stretch out?
It gives a little and then settles, moulding to what you carry. It does not keep loosening. A wallet that feels tight for the first week is normal and is not a fault.
Can I have initials on it?
Yes, on all four. Characters are stamped exactly as typed, so check the spelling — leather cannot be unstamped.
What if I carry cash?
The Bondi, Annandale and Woronora all take notes folded once. The Barangaroo does not, by design. For a full-length note section, look at the traditional wallets.
